Mr. Rabbit, a familiar face among the late folk of this particular Northern Fairyland village, hasn’t left despite the war that turned this very village into a ruin centuries ago. A Vial of Vitality he stole from a robot’s stomach compartment had the ability to heal Mr. Rabbit’s injuries during the Robot Disaster, as well as make him live much longer than he should. He lives out his long life in the ruins of this village alone, and has not seen another soul for much too long. He has no desire to leave. He thinks that because his home has already been destroyed, nobody can take it away from him further, therefore nobody shall bother him again. He enjoys the quiet of the robots' absence, but he has an intense yearning to connect with other beings of his land once again.
One day he sees a bright light coming from a grassy patch where ponds appear during heavy rain. He and his best friend at the time would play here. He spots a fairy resembling his said best friend and the old princess of the village, Poppy. She was one of the five fairies that disappeared during the Northern Fairylands Robot Disaster, never to be found. Centuries later, how could she be back here? Mr. Rabbit admired from afar to avoid scaring the being and enjoyed the fairy’s presence, reminding him of the days when he wasn’t alone. He missed it. He realized that the blanket of isolation he wrapped himself with wasn’t the safety he was hoping for, but instead the very thing holding him back from moving on and making meaning out of his long life. He was still unsure if the fairy was Princess Poppy, another soul, relative or spirit, so he waited, unsure of what was to come next.
The fairy looked over her shoulder and and was startled to lock her sight with Mr. Rabbit’s gaze. He quickly realized that this strange fairy was indeed Princess Poppy. Poppy’s eyes widened and she almost felt faint. “Lazul, what a blessing” she exhaled. Mr. Rabbit’s ears twitched at the sound of the name he was given and had forgotten after consuming the Vial of Vitality. Poppy realized that her travels back to her village ruin after centuries of wandering through the abandoned Fairyland wood has led her back to her very best friend. She also realized that she was not the only one to consume the Vial of Vitality or the only one still inhabiting this particular area of the Northern Fairylands.
