Catharsis is an acrylic, deeper-meaning painting about allowing one’s inner negative self flow out and allowing a new chapter after going through a dark period. Catharsis itself means the purifying and releasing of strong repressed emotions- the smoke representing the repressed emotions coming out through the eyes (the soul) and the mouth (the voice of the soul). This painting represents relief and peace while showing the darkness that comes along with any story. Without dark, you can’t have the contrast that reveals light.
